Small and characteristic town of the Amalfi Coast, Maiori is located at the beginning of the valley of Tramonti and it is mainly a touristic locality: in fact here there is the longer beach of the Coast (approximately one and a half km), with fine sand.
Maiori is also interesting for its wonderful history, whose tokens are artistic and natural monuments; the tourists can choose different routes, that will lead them to discover this splendid town.
For those who love hiking and the nature, the paths that go in the woods behind the town are rich of panoramic points, among which the Santuario dell'Avvocata, a church that is located to 900 meters of altitude, from where you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama on the whole Maiori valley. The town is rich from the artistic point of view: among the main monuments we remember the Collegiata di Santa Maria a Mare, built in the year 1000, and the Mezzacapo Palace, that is today the town hall.
